Beautifully crafted furniture upholstered in leather looks luxurious with a distinct smell and feel not found in any other products.
With obvious aesthetic appeal, leather furniture will keep its properties unchanged for many, many years. With proper care, leather generally outlives fabric upholstery 4 to 1. Genuine leather will not become hot or sticky in summer, nor cold and clammy in winter because it is a natural material that breathes making it comfortable all year round.
Leather is the strongest natural upholstery material known to man and was the first fabric ever used for upholstery. Leather will not readily burn or melt and it is extremely difficult to puncture. With proper care, leather can stand up to the rigors of daily life in the home or office.
Cleaning and Conditioning:
The goal in caring for leather is to keep it like new, through years of use. Regular scheduled cleaning of your leather furnishings will maintain them in prime condition and extend their useful life. Over time body oils, perspiration, skin acids and soiling will work into the leather if it is not cleaned regularly and correctly.
We use a thorough gentle cleaning process followed by the applications of specially formulated conditioners. We clean without stripping natural oils or inhibiting the leather's ability to breathe. This prevents the leather from drying out and cracking, as well as from staining and discoloring.
The Do’s & Don’ts of Leather Care:
Never clean with soaps or detergents. These can cause leather surface breakdown.
Never use oils or silicones. Oils may darken leather and soften the finish – causing it to peel or wear off. Silicones cause leather to become shiny and slippery, attracting dust more readily.
Avoid direct sunlight. Finishes can fade and degrade when exposed to ultraviolet rays
Avoid extreme temperatures. Never place leather furniture near heat or air conditioning vents.
Remove spills immediately. Use absorbent paper towels or a cloth to remove liquid spills. For grease or oil, use talcum powder or cornstarch to absorb the spill.
Never use water on grease or oil spills... and if you need help, call us.
