- Carpet inspections are usually carried out where there is a dispute. In the domestic market the dispute is usually between a customer and a retailer; in a commercial dispute involving contract carpet the argument is usually between the manufacturer and property management. The Inspector my be retained by the complainant, the retailer or the manufacturer.
- The role of an independent inspector is to establish the truth—not a case for the client who retained the inspector. By doing so, a lot of money could be saved in court costs by disputes being settled amicably out of court.
- This qualification utilises many the ways of determining the cause of various problems and complaints found in carpets, by using various physical testing methods and laboratory procedures. Then providing a report giving the client a definitive answer to their problem even if it doesn’t support their claim.
